Panafrican Festival Berlin takes the protection of your personal data seriously. It strictly adheres to the rules of the data protection laws of the Federal Republic of Germany (BDSG), the Telemedia Act (TMG), and the European Data Protection Basic Regulation (EU-GDPR). Insofar as reference is made to the GDPR in this data protection declaration, it is made clear that this only applies from May 25, 2018. Before that, the legal basis is the BDSG.
This data protection declaration only applies to our website. If you are redirected to other sites via links on our site, please inform yourself there about the respective handling of your data.

We process your data in order to process the contractual relationships between you and us and to send you invitations, advertisements, and information.

4. Categories of recipients of personal data

This obligation remains in effect even after the termination of the respective contract.

5. Duration of data retention


In principle, we delete your data as soon as it is no longer required for the purposes mentioned above, unless temporary storage is still necessary. We store your data based on legal requirements and storage obligations resulting from the German Commercial Code and the Tax Code, among other regulations. The storage periods are then up to ten full years. In addition, we keep your data for the time in which claims can be asserted against our company (statutory limitation period of three or up to thirty years).

Within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipient, and the purpose of the data processing and, if necessary, a right to correction, blocking, or deletion of this data at any time.
